We have 2 dogs that we are desperate to get out of Spain and bring back to the UK. We can pay up to £300 a dog. Can anyone help or does anyone know of anyone driving back very soon? The dogs are in Gran Alcant and have Pet Passports. Please pm me if you can do this or have any informationthat might help

Thank you,

Hi Cara

I have just seen your postand think I may be able to help. I am currently looking after 4 dogs all due to turn to the UK in July. The arrangements were made by their owners but I hve spoken to the man involved and he is really very nice and helpful.

His name is Steve and he is actually a removal driver but also transports pets. The telephone numbers I have for him are 679584554 / 0044 7814010283.

If your dogs are able to travel together then this ill make the cost cheaper. Give him a call.

Cara and a good writing

Hi Cara, hope any of the two nice people who answered this your post will be able to help. You can trust completely to Gadget´s friend, knowing Gadget personally I would not have a doubt he will also have good hearted friends who would care for the animals on their journey.
Please keep me posted on the outcome, thought the lady I told you about was giving you a reference name and they were helping. WE NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU IN THE WORLD
Many foreigners, mostly English (sorry to say this) abandon their beloved animals lately due to going back on top of all the Spanish that got pets for Xmas presents, like every year but the English abandoning is really a high percentage. How can anyone who has loved the animal dump them or try to pass it on to others !!!

THE ANIMALS SAVIOR

I looked at all
the caged animals
in the shelter...
the cast offs of
human society.

I saw in their
eyes love & hope,
fear and dread,
sadness & betrayal.

And I was angry.

"God", I said,
"this is terrible!

"Why don't you
do something?"

God was silent
for a moment & then
He spoke softly.

"I have done something,"
He replied.

"I CREATED YOU"

Returning our dogs to UK

Hi Gadget

The dogs in question are a large German Shepherd who is getting on in years and a small ( beagle sized ) mixed terrier.

The man recommended by Helen ( see previous post ) is going to see the dogs today to check their pet - passports and might be able to transport them home for us.

Shell - I am sorry to hear that a large amount of Brits are abandoning their pets when returning to the UK. Anyone who is a real animal lover does not make that decison lightly. My advice to anyone with animals in Spain is to MAKE SURE YOU KEEP THEIR INJECTIONS UP TO DATE. Then you will not have to wait 6 months for them to be allowed out of the country.

We had no intention of returning to the UK but the TV industry has been hit badly by the recession and sadly Owen ( my partner ) lost work and back wages when the Sky Channel 'Living in Spain' went bust last year. If you are working, you just never know if the recession will affect you. Be prepared for the sake of your pets!

Our dogs are home!

I would like to say a big thank you to Helen who gave the following details in response to my plea for help with getting our dogs out of Spain and back to the UK.

'His name is Steve and he is actually a removal driver but also transports pets. The telephone numbers I have for him are 679584554 / 0044 7814010283.'

We contacted Steve and he gave a very reasonable quote and thankfully our dogs are back with us now in the UK. Steve is a really nice guy and very caring towards the animals. I would throughly recomend his services.

Thank you to everyone who also offered to help. There are certainly some very kind hearted people on this forum. My heart goes out to the lady who's bulldog has been stolen.

Best wishes

Cara
