Elche is by far the biggest club between Malaga and Valencia, with an excellent stadium and every chance of promotion to the primera liga this year. We go to every home game. The stadium is about 15 minutes from Gran Alacant on the El Altet - Elche road. Next home game is this Saturday 18.30 kick off V Tenerife. We normally meet at The Dick Turpin in Sierra Mar and leave about 1 hour before kick off. Seats are priced from ?15. If you would like to go, be at the Dick Turpin by 5.15. We normally see how many cars we need and take it in turns with the driving.

The Tenerife game was played in torrential rain, and the appalling weather had an major affect on the attendance. However the pitch stood up well to the conditions and some good football was played. Elche once again threw away a good opportunity to move into the promotion places, gifting goals through defensive mistakes having twice taken the lead. Last Sunday Elche recorded another 2-2 draw this time away to Sporting. The weekends results leave Elche in seventh place 1 point outside the top three. This Sundays game kicks of at 12.00 against Real Valladolid. Real currently occupy 3rd place. We will be leaving Gran Alacant at about 11.00am, from outside the Farmacia, in Sue?o Azul. Disappointing result for Elche on Sunday. Losing 2.0 at home to Valladolid means that Elche dropped to 10th in what remains a very tight division. Elche are now 4 points behind Valladolid who occupy the third promotion position, however in truth anyone who saw the game would have to conclude that the margin should be greater.

Elche are on the verge of selling striker Frankowski to Wolverhampton Wanderers. http://www.wolves.premiumtv.co.uk/pa...773254,00.html The local view seems to be that it a good deal for Elche as Frankowski is now 31 and Wolves have made a good offer. Lets hope that the team sees some of the money re invested.

This Sunday is a home game again. Kick off 5.30. So we are back to meeting at the Dick Turpin. We will be leaving at no later than 4.30 and will try to join up with Lees group who meet outside Mercadona. For more info please call my mobile number. (I promise to remember to take it this week)

Here to a better result this week. I suppose it could have been worse. I could still be a West Brom season ticket holder! 0-1 to Sunderland now that?s what you call a bad result.

I hope to see more guys at the meeting places mentioned above........come on guys get away from the wife once in a while, its good to have a little space on your own from time to time....If she wont let you go just pretend your off to the shops..we hope to meet up with pauls crew and meet on a regular basis....
